Welcome to Studico (also referred to as "we", "us", or "our"), a platform owned and operated by STUDIFY LTD. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read these Terms carefully before using our services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using Studico, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use our platform.

2. Description of Service

Studico is a social networking platform designed for students to connect with peers, join communities based on shared interests, create and attend events, share content, and engage in meaningful discussions. Our services include, but are not limited to:

• User profiles and connections
• Community membership and engagement
• Event creation and RSVP functionality
• Content sharing (posts, images, comments)
• Direct messaging and community chats
• Notifications and activity feeds

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Registration

• You must be at least, 16 years old
• You must be a UK university student
• You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You must verify your student email address if required by the platform

3.2 Account Responsibilities

• You are solely responsible for all activities that occur under your account
• You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account
• You may not share your account credentials with others
• One person or entity may maintain only one account

3.3 Account Termination

• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms
• You may deactivate your account at any time through your account settings

4. Acceptable Use Policy

4.1 Prohibited Conduct

You agree NOT to use Studico to:

Harassment

• Engage in harassment, bullying, or intimidation of other users
• Send unwanted or threatening messages
• Persistently contact users who have blocked you or declined your requests
• Create an environment that makes others feel unsafe or unwelcome

Spam

• Post repetitive, unwanted, or unsolicited content
• Send spam messages or communications
• Use automated systems to post or send messages
• Solicit personal information from other users for commercial purposes
• Post misleading or false information

Hate Speech

• Post content that promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic
• Use slurs or derogatory language targeting protected groups
• Create or share content that incites hatred or discrimination

Nudity and Sexual Content

• Share explicit sexual content or nudity
• Post pornographic material
• Share sexually suggestive content involving minors
• Engage in sexual harassment or unwanted sexual advances

Violence

• Threaten violence against individuals or groups
• Post graphic or disturbing violent content
• Incite or encourage violent behavior
• Share content that glorifies violence or harm

Impersonation

• Impersonate another person, entity, or organization
• Create accounts that misrepresent your identity
• Use another person's name, image, or likeness without permission
• Claim to be affiliated with an organization you are not associated with

4.2 Content Standards

All content you post must:

• Be accurate and truthful (to the best of your knowledge)
• Respect intellectual property rights
• Comply with applicable laws and regulations
• Not violate the privacy rights of others

5. Enforcement and Penalties

5.1 Violation Consequences

We take violations of these Terms seriously. Depending on the severity and frequency of violations, we may take the following actions:

• Warning: First-time minor violations may result in a warning
• Temporary Suspension: Violations may result in temporary suspension of your account (1 day, 7 days, or longer)
• Content Removal: We may remove violating content without notice
• Permanent Ban: Severe cases or repeated violations may result in permanent account suspension or ban

5.2 Severe Violations

Severe violations that may result in immediate permanent ban include, but are not limited to:

• Extreme harassment or cyberbullying
• Threats of violence or harm
• Distribution of illegal content
• Sexual harassment or exploitation
• Impersonation for fraudulent purposes
• Sharing private information without consent
• Any violation involving minors in inappropriate content
• Coordinated harassment campaigns

5.3 Reporting Violations

Users can report violations through our in-app reporting system. We review all reports and take appropriate action based on our policies and applicable laws.

5.4 Appeals Process

If you believe your account was suspended or banned in error, you may contact us to appeal the decision. We will review appeals on a case-by-case basis.

5.5 Bans and limited data retention

If your account is permanently banned, we may retain limited information (for example, hashed contact identifiers, device or token identifiers, the ban reason/category, and timestamps) to prevent re-registration, protect our users, and comply with legal obligations. This information is access-restricted, used only for security/abuse prevention or legal purposes, and kept only for as long as necessary for those purposes, in line with our Privacy Policy.

6. User Content and Intellectual Property

6.1 Your Content

• You retain ownership of the content you post on Studico
• By posting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content on our platform
• You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to post content, including obtaining necessary permissions

6.2 Intellectual Property Rights

• You may not post content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
• We respect copyright and will respond to valid takedown requests under applicable laws (e.g., DMCA)
• If you believe your intellectual property has been infringed, please contact us immediately

7. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

Data is processed in accordance with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018

8. Communities and Events

8.1 Community Guidelines

• Community administrators may establish additional guidelines for their communities
• Community guidelines must not conflict with these Terms of Service
• We reserve the right to intervene in communities that violate platform policies

8.2 Events

• Event organizers are responsible for the safety and legality of their events
• We are not responsible for events created by users
• Users attend events at their own risk

9. Direct Messaging and Communication

• Messages sent through our platform are private communications
• Do not use messaging to harass, spam, or send unwanted content
• We may review messages if there are reports of abuse, reviews may be manual or automated, data is handled securely
• Users can block other users to prevent further communication

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

10.1 Service Availability

• We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access
• We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of our service at any time
• We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from service interruptions

10.2 Third-Party Content

• Our platform may contain content from third parties
• We do not endorse or guarantee the accuracy of third-party content
• You interact with other users at your own risk

10.3 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid to us in the past 12 months (if any)
• We are not responsible for user-generated content or user conduct

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless STUDIFY LTD, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of:

• Your use of the platform
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another user or third party
• Content you post or share

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes through:

• Email notifications
• Updates to this document

Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the platform.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if:

• You engage in illegal activity
• You pose a risk to other users or the platform
• Required by law or court order

Upon termination, your right to use the platform immediately ceases, and we may delete your account and content (subject to legal retention requirements).
